A Master’s degree co-sponsored by Paris-Sorbonne, Sorbonne-Nouvelle, Ecole Normale Supérieure and the Ecole Nationale des Chartes
In an unprecedented manner, this Master’s degree brings together the teachings from four Parisian establishments (Paris-Sorbonne, Sorbonne nouvelle, Ecole Normale Supérieure and the Ecole Nationale des Chartes) in order to educate students about literary research for medieval texts, with an interdisciplinary option within the medieval specialty.
This makes it possible to acquire:
- An understanding of the literature and literary history of the Middle Ages
- An understanding of the culture and knowledge of the Middle Ages (history, art history, philosophy, the history of sciences)
- The fundamental tools for medievalists (Medieval languages, philology, palaeography, codicology, etc.)
- A background in literary research and linguistic analysis
- Editorial expertise through the drafting of a dissertation supervised by a research director
